To enhance the technical skills of certified test engineers (CTE) from across the country, the Bureau of Agricultural and Fisheries Engineering (BAFE) held a Training Course on Instrumentation, Selection, and Calibration for Agricultural and Fisheries Machinery in collaboration with the UPLB Agricultural Machinery Testing and Evaluation Center (AMTEC) last October 21-25, 2024 at BP International Makiling, Los Baños, Laguna.

Dr. Arthur L. Fajardo, the Agricultural Machinery Testing and Evaluation Center (AMTEC) Director, attended two events in Mindanao that aimed to inspire both practicing and aspiring Agricultural and Biosystems Engineers (ABE) to pursue graduate studies and careers that would support the country’s agricultural mechanization programs this November 2024. 

A total of 119 undergraduate Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering (ABE) students from the Ilocos Sur Polytechnic State College (ISPSC) paid a visit to the Agricultural Machinery Testing and Evaluation Center (AMTEC) testing facilities as part of an educational tour in UPLB last November 8, 2024.

Agricultural and Biosystems Engineers (ABE) from the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) underwent an AMTEC-facilitated Refresher Course Training in the Conduct of Performance Testing and Evaluation of Agricultural and Fisheries Machinery last October 15-18, 2024 at San Isidro, Luna, Apayao.

Representatives from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) visited the UPLB Agricultural Machinery Testing and Evaluation Center (AMTEC) last October 21, 2024, to explore possible areas of collaboration and gather relevant data and information for the organization’s study on Post-Harvest Modernization of Rice in the country.

Along with esteemed soil and tillage experts and scientists across 42 countries, Dr. Arthur L. Fajardo (AMTEC Director) successfully presented his papers during the 22nd International Soil and Tillage Research Organisation (ISTRO) International Conference at Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA, last September 23-27, 2024.
