To strengthen the center’s commitment to the advancement of the country’s agricultural sector, by solidifying alliances among peers in the field, AMTEC’s test engineers participated in the 20th Annual Regional Convention of the Philippine Society of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering (PSABE) Region IV-A Chapter on April 11, 2024, at the Lipa City Convention Center.
Led by Dr. Arthur L. Fajardo, AMTEC Director, fourteen (14) from its pool of test engineers who are all Agricultural and Biosystems Engineers (ABE) attended the event. On its two-decade mark, this year’s convention highlighted the vital role of advancing sustainable agricultural development in a dynamic food system.
The one-day event was comprised of various plenary sessions facilitated by experts from the academic, private, and government institutions in the region. The discussions focused on agricultural engineering’s role in sustainable development and its role amidst the emergence of a digitally evolving industry.
Meanwhile, a new set of officers for PSABE Region IV-A and the provincial chapters were elected and inducted during the convention. Dr. Arthur L. Fajardo was voted as the new regional Vice President of PSABE IV-A.
AMTEC, as the premiere and reference testing center for agricultural and fisheries machinery in the Philippines, performs a critical aspect in the holistic development of the sector, particularly in the mechanization program. This mandate emphasizes the significance of the center’s collaboration with other agencies and experts in shaping the future of agriculture.
On the other hand, the engineers are set to join the nation’s Agri-Biosystems Engineers at the PSABE Annual Convention that will be held on April 22-27, 2024 at Legazpi City, Albay.
